Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Deylee, in plain words.
Last updated 8 August 2026
These terms cover the Deylee app for macOS and the sync service behind it. Installing or signing in means you accept them. They are written to be read, not to be survived — if a clause here is unclear, ask and it gets rewritten rather than explained away.
Deylee is pre-release
The app has not had a stable release yet. It is offered as is, without a warranty of any kind: it may contain defects, behave unexpectedly, or change substantially between builds. Keep your own records of anything you are paid for. We work hard on correctness — the time arithmetic is covered by an automated test suite — but a pre-release tracker is not a system of record, and you should not rely on it as your only copy of billable hours.
What it costs
Nothing today. There is no paid plan, no subscription and no trial that converts into one. If paid plans arrive, they will apply to new purchases — we will not start charging for something you are already using without telling you first and giving you the choice to decline.
Your account
Deylee requires an account to track time. You can install the app and open it without one, but starting a day raises sign-in and the timer runs only once you have signed in. You may do that with Google, or with an email address and a password.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials to yourself, and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to it. One account is for one person; do not share a login across a team.
Your data belongs to you
Your hours are yours. They are written first to a database on your own machine, and you can export the month you are looking at to CSV or JSON at any time, without asking us. We claim no ownership of what you record.
What we do and do not collect is set out in full in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms. The short version: only hours ever leave your machine, never how the work was done.
What we ask of you
Use Deylee lawfully, and specifically do not:
- Use it to monitor another person without their knowledge and consent.
- Attack, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the sync service or to another person’s account.
- Resell or redistribute the app as your own, or strip out its notices.
Investigating a security flaw in good faith is not a breach of these terms. If you find one, report it before disclosing it, and you will be credited if you would like to be.
Availability
The app is local-first by design: if the sync service is down, or if we discontinue it entirely, the app on your Mac keeps recording your hours and you keep your data. We do not promise a particular uptime for sync while the product is pre-release, and we may change or withdraw features. If we shut the service down, we will give notice and time to export.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Deylee is not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost profit, lost business, or revenue you could not invoice — arising from your use of the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Ending it
You can stop using Deylee whenever you like: delete the app, and delete the local database if you want the history gone. To remove the synced copy, write to us and we will close the account by hand and confirm when it is done. We may suspend an account that is being used to attack the service or to break these terms, and we will say why.
Changes to these terms
These terms will change as the product does. Substantive changes will be announced rather than slipped in, and the date at the top of this page will move. Continuing to use Deylee after a change means you accept it; if you do not, close your account.
